Abstract

This chapter is an introduction to the Research Handbook on Climate Change Mitigation Law. It discusses what mitigation is, its history, the role of law in mitigation, and the relationship between mitigation and adaptation. The chapter also introduces all contributions to the book and summarizes the conclusions of the individual chapters, as well as overarching conclusioons from the book as a whole.
