    Abstract

    The social impacts of events are significant, wide-ranging and complex. The current volume demonstrates that there is still much research to be done on the relationship between society and events of all kinds. This concluding chapter draws together some of the main themes emerging from the volume, and identifies some of the key research challenges for the future.
