Abstract

This document (D1.2 Cross-cutting Activities interim report) sets forth how the project respects the data protection and ethics rules and requirements and the outreach activities towards relevant projects and organizations from M1-18 and an outlook for the forthcoming period. First, the applicability of the General Data Protection Regulation (GPDR) to ENCRYPT use cases (fintech, health, and CTI) and related technologies is elaborated, alongside with how ENCRYPT complies with the GDPR. The deliverable also reports the process, method, and outcomes of the Data Protection Impact Assessments conducted in the framework of the project. Next, the deliverable looks into the ethics aspects associated with the research and work we do at ENCRYPT. This includes research ethics, gender aspects, and measures the consortium has undertaken to ensure its ethics by design approach. The last part provides the outcomes for this reporting period of T1.5 on liaison management activities, and the outreach towards other projects and research initiatives. The final version of this D1.2 is due in M36 and will include all the relevant updates regarding T1.3 (Ethics & GDPR compliance guidance) and T1.5 (Liaison activities management).
