Abstract
A monograph about the meaning and quality assurance of diploma's from a juridical perspective. Official diploma's represent a high social value in terms of work, chances, influence and income, but the rules concerning the granting and revoking of diploma's are scarce and vague. In some, well defined cases diploma's can be revoked. It appears that there is more space for the development of grounds with regard to the granting and revoking in higher education than in the other education sectors. It is government that has to guarantee the quality of education and - subsequently - diploma's.
