Abstract
The early notes display Levinas' strong conviction that Judaism, but Christianity as well, can form a counterforce against the "philosophy of Hitlerism". One of the first articles in Tijdschrift voor Filosofie, at the wake of Word WQar 2, written by Amandus van der Weij, warns for the philosophical sources of nazism. Levinas seems to prelude upon the same themes in the beginning of the 1930s.
