Abstract
This research has been commissioned by the Committee Work Pressure to gain insight in possible solutions for the EUR to lower the work pressure and to provide input for policy development by means of qualitative research.
Based on the ES 2016, six departments have been selected to participate in the research (two services units and four academic departments). A total of 58 interviews have been conducted, in which the meaning of work pressure, factors leading to work pressure and possible solutions were discussed. In addition, a focus group discussion has been organized for each participating department. A total of 62 people took part in these focus group discussions, where the emphasis was on discussing the outcomes of the interviews and discussing possible ways to create an optimal level of work pressure
