Abstract
Korte schets van het leven van D.V. Coornhert en diens wetenschappelijke werken, waarbij in het bijzonder aandacht wordt besteed aan zijn boek "Boeven-tucht, ofte middelen tot mindering der schadelyke ledighghanghers" uit 1587. In dit boek tracht Coornhert de oorzaken van criminaliteit te achterhalen en draagt hij een oplossing aan ter bestrijding van dit maatschappelijke probleem.
