Abstract
Op 30 april 1945 pleegde Adolf Hitler zelfmoord in zijn bunker in Berlijn. Hoewel velen dit feit nog wel mee zullen hebben gekregen in hun geschiedenisles, is het minder bekend dat er in grote delen van Duitsland, en in het bijzonder in Berlijn, een zelfmoordepidemie plaatsvond. Dit is het verhaal van hoe Duitse burgers het einde van de oorlog hebben ervaren en hoe sommigen dit hebben aangegrepen om een drastisch besluit te nemen.
