Integration of "business intelligence“ course to master academic studies in informatics

Abstract

In this paper will be presented initial experiences of delivering elective course "Business Intelligence" that first time incorporated in MSc study at Department of Mathematics and Informatics, Faculty of Sciences. The aim of this paper is to point out the necessity of timely adaptation of curricula and introduction of courses that enhance the knowledge and skills of students and which are of great importance for both the students themselves and for strengthening the business and success of companies. By introducing the "Business Intelligence" course in Master Informatics courses, students will have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills, in order to meet the modern challenges of companies, which can enable them to have potential for successful career. The modern business and success of a company depends on analyzing a large amount of data, to the way of displaying the required results, and timely decision making using an appropriate software tool and environment.
