Abstract
There is growing recognition that monitoring a Just Transition processes should go beyond quantitative indicators to include qualitative insights. Participatory methods are especially effective for localized, bottom-up monitoring and measurement and engage local stakeholders directly affected by transition measures. Working across seven European decarbonisation countries, BOLSTER has collaborated with local communities, marginalized groups, and local stakeholders to empower them in Climate and Just transition related local decision making. Methods applied in this project are now available as part of the BOLSTER Toolbox. Patricipatory monitoring is one of the methods that we tested in this project and we present it as part of the BOLSTER Toolbox.
