La présence du Dieu créateur dans l’unité de l’Église selon l’épître aux Éphésiens

This article examines the relationship between the concept of God as creator of the universe and the notion of the unity of the ἐκκλησία – the church as the ‘assembly’ of believers in Christ – in the Epistle to the Ephesians. It argues that the (implicit) link between the two notions is the order of creation. According to the author, the order of creation envisions unity because God is one: it is the one God acting in the universe who ensures unity amidst diversity, including in the ἐκκλησία. This perspective has ethical implications: to human beings, unity remains inaccessible because it rests on God’s sovereignty.
