Abstract

What it means to be an asylum seeker at times of super-diversity, that is, to open up and unpack the macro-category ‘asylum seeker’ at a time of sociotechnological development. As such, one of the research questions that drove my endeavour were to uncover the implications that Internet-based socio-technological platforms, such as Facebook, have brought in for asylum seekers’ identity constructions while engaged in the process of approval or rejection of their refugee status. In other words, Does the platformization of their identities help asylum seekers to narrate the right story, and with that match the legal narrative matrix expected by immigration authorities?
