Memory and the Other in Levinas' Commentary on the Talmud

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterScientificpeer-review

Abstract

Levinas highlights both the significance pf remembrance and the danger of being entrapped in memories of the past. Conflicts between peoples and states often draw upon frozen memories of the past, without an attempt to identify with the memory of the other. In addition, forgetting may also be a possible solution.
