Performance of Private Debt

Abstract

Private debt (PD) has grown substantially. It represents an asset class with 1.3 trillion US dollars in assets under management and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.4% over the next years, set to become the second-largest asset class after private equity (PE). The article summarizes the results of recent studies that evaluate the absolute and relative performance of this important asset class.
