Abstract

This paper focuses on the implementation of Electronic Government and new service development. After a brief introduction to electronic government and new service development in respect to models for successful implementation, the paper justifies and builds on the existing literature that advocates the use of Critical Success Factors to study the implementation of these investments. It does not stand out either as a review or a synthetic summary of past literature concerning e-government. Rather, the contribution of this study is to provide an overview of the current status of e-government phenomenon and state the need for more research to be conducted regarding the new services development in egovernment using Critical Success Factors.
