Abstract

This country report provides an overview of legal developments and policy discussions related to the EU social dimension in the Netherlands. The report contributes to a more general discussion of the development of a Social Europe and the challenges related to social integration. Those challenges are grouped into seven subjects: 1. Free movement of workers 2. Conflicts between fundamental freedoms and social rights 3. Social acquis and social “non-acquis” 4. The Relevance and the Importance of the Charter of Fundamental Rights 5. EU Trade policy and the protection of social rights 6. Green deal and Social justice 7. Achieving Social Europe: Social rights, democracy and the rule of law.
