Abstract

In order to provide detailed background information about Turkish immigrants abroad, a detailed socio-historical profile of the group is presented in this Chapter. In order to make sense of the experiences of Turkish immigrants, this chapter is important. The aim is contextualizing the topic for a better understanding of the issues facing Turkish immigrants in the immigration context. In this respect, a number of social, cultural and linguistic topics are discussed.
