Abstract
Executive summary of a report (originally in Dutch). In the autumn of 2016, trade union FNV asked the author to assess the new procedure related to compliance with bargaining agreements and to analyse both the union demands and the resulting reports with findings from the labour inspectorate. In addition, the request was to analyse whether there were any circumvention mechanisms at stake in the suspected cases that the union had traced. Finally, the FNV asked for an overall effort to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the available compliance and enforcement instruments. In this summary, the main results of the assessment are described.
