Abstract
This study presents the results of a selective inquiry into the lexicon of LXX Canticles in contrast with papyri from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. The aim is both to illustrate how papyrological sources may help our understanding of Greek texts from the Septuagint corpus, and to evaluate earlier findings on the lexicon of LXX Canticles and their implications for the provenance of this translation.
