Abstract
In the past, the work of the Dutch poet and artist Chris van Geel (1917-1974) who called himself a surrealist, was not analyzed as a coherent oeuvre. This article uses only one poem and one drawing to demonstrate how intermedial analysis can provide insight into deeper layers and the development process of the work through a surrealistic frame.
