Abstract
The research by Cedric Stalpers and Mia Stokmans has attempted to explain differences in writing fiction (including poetry) based on a domain-specific extension of Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior. Research among former students shows that attitude and self-efficacy are important explanatory variables. Respondents who experience more pleasure in writing fiction (attitude) and respondents with more confidence in their own skills (self-efficacy) write more. Differences in attitude and self-efficacy with regard to writing in turn appear to be explained by personality and social norms. Respondents with a more creative personality and richer imagination, as well as respondents who are encouraged to write by their environment,
